George Woodhouse is the kind of intelligence agent who trusts the system. Then the system turns around and points at his wife. Black Bag is a political pressure cooker with a marriage at the center. It’s less “cool gadgets, yay espionage” and more “who benefits from the lie?” George’s real mission becomes a moral math problem: his loyalty to Kathryn or his loyalty to his country, and the movie refuses to make it easy.
Bonus points for Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender having that rare on-screen chemistry where even silence feels like a threat.
